legend of the sun god

Directly under the horizon a giant snake made of darkness and chaos waits every day for the sun god Re to ascend from the sky for their daily battle. This snake´s name is Apep, the enemy of Re. Every night the sun god kills the snake bit since it is a creature of the underworld already, every night the battle begins anew.

I took creative liberty here, only a little bit though since the egyptian mythology is everything but exact (sometimes they fight 24/7, sometimes it´s as writte above): Apep takes darkness with it everywhere it goes, which makes sense in my opinion since it is the personification of the night.

But why is it here now? We shall find out next time!

The title this time is a reference to the manga "legend of the sun knight", which is an excellent one and you should totally read it!
